23. Customer access to VieFund – 4. Funds

Here is the step-by-step procedure for navigating and using the Portfolio tab of the VieFund Client Portal. This section is essential to provide full transparency on investments.

Objective

To allow the client to consult the specifics of their accounts, to verify their beneficiaries, to analyse historical returns and to access official reports independently.

Prerequisites

  • Have activated “My web portfolio” access for the client.
  • Login to the VieFund User Portal.

Step 1: Recipient verification and basic information

  1. Go to the Wallet tab.
  2. View the list of payees for each account.
  3. ⚠️ Important note about CRM: Data mapping can present technical anomalies.
    • Dates of birth may sometimes appear in the “Relationships” field.
    • Family ties can be reversed (e.g., brother listed as sister).
  4. Action: Prompt the customer to prioritize the accuracy of names and dates of birth. Errors in parentage titles are technical issues known to CRM.

Step 2: Consultation of investment plans and funds

  1. Go to the Fund Account tab.
  2. For each investment plan, you can view:
    • The funds held and their unique identifier.
    • The number of shares and the individual price (NAV).
    • The average cost of purchase versus the current market value.
    • The date of the first transaction and the status of the account.
  3. History: View the full list of transactions (purchases, reallocations, rebalances, and fee reinvestments).

Step 3: Performance and Chart Analysis

  1. Click on a fund to view its yield curve.
  2. Time Horizons: Analyze data over 1, 3, 6 months, the current year, or since inception (historical up to 5 years if available).
  3. Types of Returns: The portal displays both the simple and compound returns.
  4. Fact sheets: Use the direct link to download the full factsheet for each fund.
    • ⚠️ Caution: The date displayed on the charts may sometimes have a one-day shift; take this into account when analyzing.

Step 4: Using the summary for the annual review

  1. Select the Summary tab  (same layout as the advisor).
  2. Filtering: Apply a filter over a full year (e.g. from January 1 to December 31, 2025).
  3. Earnings analysis: Compare the book cost to the market value. The difference between these two figures indicates the total gain or loss since the beginning.
  4. It is the ideal tool to illustrate the behaviour of the portfolio during a semi-annual or annual review.

Step 5: Reports, Documents and Statements

  1. Report tab: Lists the official reports generated by the advisor. If the list is empty, no report has yet been produced.
  2. Documents tab: Secure sharing space for exchanging supporting documents between the client and the advisor.
  3. Statements option: Enable electronic receipt of quarterly statements to simplify the client’s administrative management.

💡 Practical tip: During your first check-up with the client, show them the “Summary” tab. This is often the most meaningful screen for him, as it sums up the effectiveness of his investment strategy at a glance.
