00. Calculations for the GFS Travel Competition

Here is a complete, step-by-step descriptive procedure for calculating your numbers for the GFS 2026 Travel Contest Qualification, as described in the sources:

Step 1: Calculation for insurance of persons

This step takes place on the Centralize platform.

  1. Open Centralize and select the PRODUCTION tab.
  2. Configure the search parameters as follows:
    • Conclusion date: From 01/01/2026 to 31/12/2026.
    • Coverage Status: Must be COMMISSIONABLE.
    • Producer: Select your name.
  3. Locate the $COMM column  and scroll down to the total displayed at the bottom of the column.
  4. Calculating points: Multiply the total amount of commissions by 2.5 points (Example: $65,385 x 2.5 = 163,463 points).

Step 2: Extraction of data for investments (Viefund)

This step is for mutual funds and segregated funds on the Viefund platform.

  1. Open your Viefund platform  (Mutual Fund or Segregated Fund).
  2. Go to the SEARCH section and select TRANSACTION.
  3. Change the date range for the period from 2025-01-01 to 2025-12-31.
  4. Click on ACTIVITY SUMMARY, then confirm by clicking OK.
  5. Downloading and Preparation:
    • Download the Excel file (often compressed in .zip format).
    • Important: You must unzip the file from its compressed folder before continuing.
  6. Import into Excel:
    • Open Excel, go to the DATA tab, and then select FROM TEXT/CSV FILE.
    • Select the file named ACTIVITY BY REP CODE that you just unzipped and click LOAD.

Step 3: Calculation of points for investments and final total

  1. In your imported Excel file, locate the AMOUNT column.
  2. Calculating investment points: Multiply the total amount in this column by 2% (Example: $723,243 x 2% = 14,465 points).
  3. Calculation of the grand total: Add the points obtained for life and health insurance and those obtained for investments (mutual funds and/or segregated funds) to obtain your final score for the contest.

NB: an Excel file is provided, in which the total score is calculated, once you have provided the 3 numbers (insurance commissions, segregated fund investments, mutual fund investments).
