07. Investor questionnaire (C0)
This video describes the determination of the investor’s profile and the formulation of the portfolio recommendation, a step that immediately follows the opening of the file via the NAF.
This 5-page process is essential to ensure that recommended investments are aligned with the client’s needs and risk tolerance.
1. Preparation of the document
- Number of questionnaires: You must complete a separate questionnaire for each account or plan you create.
- Example: For a client with a non-registered account, a TFSA and an RRSP, three complete C0 questionnaires are required.
- Identification: Always include the client’s name and plan number in the header of the document.
2. Interview and Assessment (KYC)
- Assessment: Answer the 15 questions in the document in direct collaboration with your client.
- Score: The answers provided will establish an overall score, which will serve as a basis for your analysis.
3. Portfolio recommendation
- Wording: Based on the score, formulate your portfolio recommendation.
- Technical details: Clearly indicate, in the form of percentages, the following:
- Risk tolerance.
- Investment objectives.
- Justification (if necessary): If your recommendation deviates from the profile suggested by the score, you must justify this choice in writing in the additional section provided for this purpose.
4. Validation and finalization
- Signature: Collect the client’s signature at the bottom of the document.
- Attestation: This signature officially attests that your recommendation is based on the answers provided by the client during the interview.
Once the NAF and the investor questionnaire have been duly completed and signed, the file is almost ready for the administrative department, except for a final analysis step
